TOPIC: YAHWEH, the Great I AM
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” and He said … “This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’”
– Exodus 3:14-15
The letters in God’s name tell a truly fascinating story. Everywhere in your Bible you see LORD in all capitals, it is God’s personal name, Yahweh, which means I AM WHO I AM. The name Yahweh is embedded in your Bible almost 7,000 times, disguised as LORD. But there is an even greater revelation within the name of God when it is spelled out in ancient Hebrew pictographs. Yahweh is spelled Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey (YHWH). In Hebrew pictographs it is ????. (Hebrew is read right to left.)
The pictograph for Yod is a hand suspended in air. Hey resembles a window, meaning look or behold. Waw resembles a nail. When the letters of God’s name are put together, the name YHWH ???? declares, “The hand, behold; the nail, behold!” The Father’s sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, for our salvation is revealed in the very name of Yahweh! Behold the hand, behold the nail! In His name, God is saying – before anything was ever created – look to Jesus!
Thank You for Salvation!
