Rod Parsley Daily Devotional 6 June 2024, Thursday Message
TOPIC: The Gift of Exhortation
For our exhortation was not from deceit, nor from uncleanness, nor in guile. But as we were allowed by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not to please men, but God, who examines our hearts.
– 1 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Through the gift of exhortation, the Holy Spirit can use you to encourage someone to press forward in Christ. But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3:13).
Exhortation provides a refreshing, comfort and consolation to another. Exhortation can also give admonition to someone who is straying away from God or not holding to sound doctrine. The gift of exhortation is given by the Holy Spirit to draw you nearer to God.
As we draw closer to God, we begin to look more and more like Him and less like us; therefore, others will also be drawn to Him.
Holy Spirit, grant me the gift of exhortation so that I can be a comfort to others.
