Scripture Union Daily Guide 29th December 2023 Message:
When the body is thirsty, no other drink but water can satisfy it. The soul also experiences thirst, like in the case of the Psalmist here. Even though a king, David found that only God and God alone could give him true satisfaction. See also Psalms 42:1; 84:2. When last did you feel the way he did here? David’s intimacy with God moved him to a total outpouring of his person to Him.
The revelation of God in the sanctuary (v.2), kindles a fire for meditation on his bed (v.6). As praise flows freely from the heart to the lips, a strong faith in God develops in vs.7-8. Let this be a challenge to us. Find out the warnings in vs.9-10, 11b.
Practice/Word Application
So What? It may be that you are facing problems or passing through a period of spiritual dryness now. Why not meditate over your past encounter with God and open yourself to praise, and worship Him unreservedly today? God is able to make a miracle overtake your situation.

PRAY FOR:
►His mighty hand will hover us into a year of peace
►That we will receive the new year in joy and spend it in peace
►That He will bring our nation again from every captivity, that we may rejoice in Him indeed and be glad.
