Scripture Union Daily Guide 7th November 2023 MESSAGE
A number of Christians will identify with v.1. We were lost, wretched and entangled in religions that promised salvation through works. We were working our way to earn our seats in heaven when God’s grace found us like John Newton the writer of the hymn “Amazing grace”. Despite challenges of life, have you resolved in your heart that you will find a reason to worship and praise God?
God will destroy any nation that defies His statutes (vs.2-3) and will be a fortress to those who trust in Him (vs.4-5). Many Christians will die not having enjoyed the things promised by God (Hebrews 11:13), but as shown by vs.6-9, through faith they can begin to celebrate their invitation to the marriage of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9; Matthew 26:29) and the wiping away of all tears which is more important than the joys of this world that are passing. Read vs.7 and 8 and meditate upon them. Notice what will happen to Satan and his evil power.
Practice/Word Application
What next? They that remain faithful to the end shall dwell in the presence of the Lord and serve Him forever and His enemy will be destroyed (vs.9-12). Spend some time in meditation upon the following scriptures: Revelation 2:7, 11 and 21:1-8. In many churches today, worship has become superficial and emotional not a matter of the heart.
