MFM Devotional for 16th September 2023 MESSAGE
Soul winning is drawing men back to their Maker. It is the art of evangelism and is about reproducing heaven-bound souls. It is a spiritual assignment for all true children of God and it requires divine assistance. However, to be an effective soul winner, God expects you to have some qualities.
First, you need to be certain of your call as a Christian to win souls, as stated in Mark 16:15. Soul winning is an assignment primarily for those who are born again. If you are not born again or you are still living in sin, you cannot be an effective soul winner. You need to first repent and surrender your life to Jesus.
Second, you need to recognise that you are a debtor. Apostle Paul presented us a good example on this in Romans 1:14. He said, “I am a debtor both to the Greek and the Barbarians; both to the wise and to the unwise.” So, like Paul, because of your salvation, calling and gifts from God, you are obliged to preach God’s Word to every creature and win souls for His kingdom.
Third, to be an effective soul winner, you must be God-fearing. In 2 Corinthians 5:11, Apostle Paul assures that because he and other apostles had the fear of God, they were successfully made manifest in the hearts and consciences of men. The fear of God will earn you the help of the Holy Spirit and make you an effective soul winner.
Fourth, you must be full of the love of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:14). Without the genuine love of Christ in your heart, you cannot develop great passion for lost souls and be an effective soul winner. Christ was a Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep. All soul winners are expected to imitate Him.
Fifth, you need to know deeply the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for all sinners. 1 Peter 1:18-20 affirms that Christ Jesus redeemed sinners with His precious and blameless blood. It was a great sacrifice!
Beloved, our memory verse for today affirms that soul winners are wise. I encourage you to make soul winning a top priority in your daily schedule and be God’s partner in the grand plan of redemption. Your reward will be amazing.

MORNING
1. Father, help me to make soul-winning a daily priority, in the Name of Jesus.
2. O Lord, lead and teach me the best strategies for winning souls for You, in the Name of Jesus.
3. My Father, bless me with the qualities that will make me effective in soul-winning, in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Father, as I win souls for You, let me shine as the brightness of the firmament and as the stars forever, in the Name of Jesus.
5. I overcome distraction and opposition in soul winning, by the blood of Jesus, in the Name of Jesus.
6. Father, give me the spirit of grace and supplication, in the Name of Jesus.
7. My Father, use me to turn souls from death to life, in the Name of Jesus.
