Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 20th June 2023, Tuesday Message
TOPIC: Victory Through His Presence
TEXT: Judges 6:1-40(NKJV)
MESSAGE: In our text today, the people of Israel groaned under the heavy oppression of the Midianites. The Israelites hid in caves and could not openly harvest their farm produce. Even Gideon gleaned secretly, because of the fear that pervaded the land. Righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people (Prov. 14:34) verse 15, God assured him of His presence. Eventually, God delivered Israel from the Midianites through Gideon.
The presence of God in our lives makes the difference. It does not matter the height of the mountain, the number of armies, the report of the enemy, your past or background. Victory is assured once the presence of God is guaranteed. Joseph succeeded in Egypt (Gen. 39:2), and the house of Obed-Edom was blessed (I Chron. 13:14) because of God’s presence. Moses cried, “Lord if your presence will not go with us, do not send us up from here” (Ex. 33:15). It is a great risk to fight life’s battles without an assurance of God’s presence. Victory is defined in the place of God’s presence. Are you sure, you have His presence?
PRAYER: Lord, let your presence make the difference in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
