TOPIC: Nothing Can Separate You From the Love of God

OPENING PRAYER:  Dear Lord, make me more like you through the power of your word as I meditate on it.

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Romans 8:31 – 39

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
• Q 7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?

MESSAGE: Paul starts these verses with a very powerful question: If God is for us who can be against us? God is the creator of heaven and earth. He is free to pardon who He wants to pardon (Romans 9:15). No one can stop God from doing what He wants to do (v.33). Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. He therefore has final decision on the issue.

If God sent Christ to die for us on the cross while we were sinners (vs.32,34), how will He not give us eternal life? The case is settled, and we are victorious. No condemnation!
In this world full of evil, the devil can use many things to try and drive us away from the love of Christ, but he will not succeed (John 10:28).

Since we are united with Christ in His death and resurrection, nothing can now separate us from Him and His love. Notice the long list in vs.35, 38-39. Add, to the list, that situation that is threatening you and your faith. Don’t allow it to threaten your union with and security in Christ.

PRACTICE/WORD APPLICATION
Meditate on Isaiah 43:1-2 and praise God for the assurance of His ever-abiding presence.

THANK GOD FOR:
► His call upon the body of Christ to grow in unity despite the differences in our time.
► The unity we enjoy in Christ Jesus who has perfectly united us in mind and thought in SU.

PRAY FOR:
► SU brethren that we will continue to encourage one another, be of one mind and live in peace as we expect the coming of our Lord.
► Daily renewal in the attitude of our minds, more so as we see the day approaching.
► Grace and humility to be like minded, having same love and being one in spirit and mind in SU and the entire Christendom.

PRAY AGAINST:
► Messy relationships that cause strain and destroy the unity we have in the Christendom.
► Lack of patience, kindness and exhibition of love in our actions and words.
