TOPIC: Get it from Adam and Christ
OPENING PRAYER: Grant me depth of insight, revelation and knowledge as I meditate on this passage, O Lord.

• Q 7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
In my Shona culture, if a person killed someone, the whole extended family is tarnished and would become liable to pay compensation for the sin of their family member. Thus, a bad deed soils the whole tribe as much as a good deed benefits the whole tribe. Paul uses a contrast between Adam and Christ much in the same way.
The disobedience of Adam in the Garden of Eden affected all humanity (Genesis 3:17-19), so that all people are born in sin (Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:23). For that reason, we all fall short of the glory of God. Adam as our ancestor sinned and caused all of us to be tainted and unsuitable to live in the presence of God.
But as Adam was our representative in sin, we are justified through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, who reconciles us with God. Go through vs.15-19 again and identify the consequences of Adam’s disobedience and Jesus’ obedience on humanity. All who believe in Jesus Christ become righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. So, we who are born sinners through Adam receive forgiveness through the death of Christ on the cross. This is given to us totally freely. Why not grab the chance and run to Jesus Christ now?

► Patience of spirit as we wait on God in our various families for the expected miracles.
► The start and safe completion of various family projects this year.
PRAY AGAINST:
► Failing to do God’s will in our families thereby not accomplishing all that God has purposed for us.
► Refusing to acknowledge by faith, today that all that trouble us are finished in Jesus name.
