Lay It Aside
Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman
BIBLE READING:Â 2 Chronicles 19-21
TEXT: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12 :1.
OFM Rhema For Living 10th May 2023 MESSAGE: Every man may see you on the outside and applaud you, but you know that sin that is belittling you. It is time to lay it aside. You are aware of that weakness that cripples your boldness and confidence in daring situations and circumstances as a son of God. The earlier you lay it aside, the better for you.
The Bible says sin shall not have dominion over you because by grace you’ve been empowered to live above sin (Romans 6 :14). Iniquity is a stopper of destiny. It may initially appear as if it is unnoticed and prospering, but that pleasure is transient and it’s bound to lead to destruction.
You may not have realized it, but every act of sin is bound to lead to destruction. Every act of sin has a vital thing it is hindering from manifesting in your life. If only you can take an appraisal of your life, you’ll clearly see that in life nothing goes for nothing. When you fall for unrighteousness, you lose righteousness.
When you fall for the unrighteous mammon, you cannot handle the true riches. And there is nothing the world can offer that can be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in righteousness (1 Peter 5 :1; 2 Cor.4 :17). Gehazi fell for it and lost the anointing that would have been more than what Elisha got.
The Bible says, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Prov.14 :34). Joshua the high priest, a man with the car of God upon his life stood before the angel of the Lord and Satan was standing to resist him (Zach.3 :1). Why? He was clothed with a filthy garment.
So, irrespective of who you are, until you take off that filthy garment of sin from you, you may not enter into His promise. But I pray for you, you shall overcome victoriously.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray,I receive fresh grace to lay aside every sin in my life.
