TEXT: “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.”
Psalm 62 :5.
Every child of God has been born into a life of favour and you can trigger God’s favour continually by increasing your expectations. Stop limiting God in your mind. Your salary is just a fraction of God’s blessings. Why limit the hands of God by only looking forward to your monthly salary? This is the problem with most civil servants — they tie their expectations to their monthly salaries, hence God can only bless the little desires of their hearts that emanate from their salaries.
Meanwhile God grants the desire of the righteous because it is only good (Prov. 11 :23).
He does not cut off their expectation. (Prov. 23 :18; 24 :14)
It takes favour to be satisfied and be full of the blessings of the Lord. Therefore, let your expectations be big; do not settle for anything less than God’s best, otherwise that is what you will get. Lazarus, in Luke chapter 16 :20 – 21; was a child of God, but his wrong desire to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table limited him to his beggarly condition.
You can experience the favour of God bountifully if you can only desire it. Favour is expected to come to you daily because God loads us with benefits everyday (Psalms 68 :19).
Therefore, with a holy anger today, begin to pray away whatever has tampered with your expectations. Whether it is disappointments and failures of the past or quick arrival mentality or whatever, pray them away.
I see you rich afresh with great expectations and I see you overwhelmed with favour from today….
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, whatever has been tampering with my expectation as I pray, be destroyed by fire.
