DAILY BIBLE READING: Joshua 1-3

TEXT: “And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Them Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.”

No single decision leaves you the same; it either moves you forward on the ladder of destiny or takes you backward. Just one decision you may think, but it is what determines if you will be laughing or crying sometime tomorrow. Just a decision you may say, but it is what defines who you are and who you will be in future. It was a decision that Lot took in choosing Sodom and Gomorrah as a place of habitation (Genesis 13 :10 – 11) that gave his life another definition characterized by sorrow.

It was a decision that David took in resting at home instead of going to battle that opened him up to the temptation of Bathsheba, the wife if Uriah and that singular act put a scar on his destiny (2 Kings 11). It was decision that Eve took in giving attention to the devil that led to her eating the fruit of the tree which God forbade them from and that act robbed man of the Garden of Eden.

It was a decision that Dinah the only daughter of Jacob took in becoming friends with the daughters of the land who God warmed them against that led to her being defiled (Genesis 34) and her name was never mentioned again all through scriptures. It was a decision that Ammon the son of David took in listening to the counsel of his bad friend, Jonadab that led to his being killed by Absalom, the brother of Tamar whom he defiled.

A temporary pleasure ruined his destiny. Child of God, every decision matters. Make up your mind to always make the right decision by the help of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, always help me to make the right.. decision.
