We are approaching the final stages of the actions taken by God to permanently rescue His people from their age-long oppressors. The first step was to expose His servant to what He was about to do to force Egyptians to allow the Israelites out of their land. Second, He instructed them on how the people should prepare by borrowing articles of gold and silver from their Egyptian neighbours.
What lesson as ministers of God can we learn from Moses in v.3? Every servant of the Lord must command respect and not demand it from his followers, and those outside the Church. People around the servant of the Lord should also testify to his reputation, integrity, and good behaviour. Read 1 Timothy 3:1-7 for some of the qualities of a good leader.
The last plague was going to be more severe and that would have the most devastating effect on the people and their families. The first born of every man and of animals shall die in one night. Read vs.9-10 again and see how God took time to forewarn Moses that Pharaoh’s heart would still be hardened; but before then observe Moses’ confident and prophetic announcement to Pharaoh in vs.4-8. The Church of God needs leaders who are confident in what they say and do for the Kingdom.

Dear Lord, give us Spirit-filled, confident, and bold leaders who can face the oppressive governments of our time.

THANK GOD FOR:
► Being a gracious and compassionate God, one who is slow to anger and great in mercy.
► Our God who has not dealt with Nigeria the way she deserves, but has shown us His unreserved mercy and compassion.
PRAY FOR:
► The mercy of God to help us select leaders who will work to reduce the pain and sufferings of the Nigeria masses.
► Selfless leaders, with open hearts and Godly wisdom to solve the numerous problems of Nigeria.
► Leaders who will establish the righteousness of God in Nigeria and remove the shame attached to the name of Nigeria.
► Pray for SU Area Leadership Retreat that starts today.
PRAY AGAINST:
► Nigerian Churches, leaders and the led continuing in our trespasses instead of seeking God’s mercy and turning away from our sins.
► The Church standing to condemn, instead of going to God in total repentance.
