Streams of Joy Devotional 23rd January 2023 MESSAGE
As we draw our meditations on the ten virgins to a close, one major matter is noteworthy: the five foolish virgins had five wise virgins around them, yet they chose to be foolish. They had people around them that they could learn from, yet they failed to learn. They had people around them that should show them the way, they saw the examples of the wise, but were committed to foolishness. They didn’t learn from the wise.
Friend, in 2023, learn from the wise. When you see the right examples, follow same. When you see others going the extra mile, dare to go the extra mile. When you see people becoming more committed, join them and become more committed. When you see wise people being prudent and productive with their time and resources, glean some wisdom from them and do same. When you see the wise, be a partaker of their wisdom.
In 2023, learn from the best. Learn from those whose wisdom is clear for all to see. Learn from those whose results speak for themselves. Learn from those whose prayer fire are blazing hot. Glean from the examples of those who embody the new season you want to be part of. Take lessons from people who have excelled around you. Check the positive, productive patterns of people around you, and glean from their wisdom.
The foolish virgins had people they should have learnt from, but they chose foolishness. They chose to ignore the lessons that stared them in the face. Don’t ignore the lessons of the wise that God Himself has positioned around you. Don’t miss the chance to become better when they show you how to be better. When surrounded by people you should learn from, don’t be wise in your own conceit; don’t be stuck in your rot.

This 2023, when you see others carrying their extra oil, join them and get your own extra oil. Glean from the wisdom of the wise.
Proverbs 13: 20 (TPT) says: “If you want to grow in wisdom, spend time with the wise. Walk with the wicked and you’ll eventually become just like them.”
