There is a saying in Yoruba about the person who demonstrates he is stronger than you by using your own hand to slap you. Pharaoh was ruler of the world’s only superpower of his time, but the Almighty God of Israel was about to teach him a lesson. God had chosen someone to free the children of Israel from his mighty power and Pharaoh was going to train that man. From the milk he drank as a baby to the full cost of his elite education, Pharaoh was to pay the costs in full. What is more, Pharaoh’s own decree that boys born to his Israelite slaves should be drowned in the Nile (1:22) was the tool God used to make this happen (vs.5-10).
This should give us encouragement as believers in this amazing God who is able to use even the plans of the enemy to accomplish His own purposes. Supremely, this is what He did when He used the betrayal of Judas, the false charges of the Jewish leaders, and the injustice of Pilate which put Jesus on the Cross of Calvary to work out His salvation for us!
PRACTICE/WORD APPLICATION
And so: Meditate on v.9 again, is there any child God is calling you to take away and nurse for Him? Do not hesitate any further!

PRAYER FOCUS
FULLY TRUSTING
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6
THANK GOD FOR:
► Being our sustainer and the one who rewards our faith.
· The gift of God that has saved us and insured us through our faith in Jesus.
PRAY FOR:
► Grace to keep praying and trusting until we receive God’s answer to our requests.
► Diligence to remain in faith attending church service, and fellowship as we maintain our personal time with the Lord and family devotion this year.
PRAY AGAINST:
► Leaning on our own understanding and using our “number six” instead of trusting in the Lord.
► Failing to believe God in all things, thereby making an alternative plan like Sarah.
