FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.” (Matthew 25: 1)
Streams of Joy Devotional 8th January 2023 MESSAGE
The story of the ten virgins raises a major unspoken matter: the ten virgins carried their lights in order to go and meet the bridegroom. Their movement was one that needed light for them to move, and they took their lamps. Apparently, there was darkness, and though they couldn’t control the darkness, they moved with light that helped them move despite the darkness. They could not control the environment, but they had with them what the environment needed.
Friend, in 2023, there will be times when you simply cannot control what is happening in your environment; but make sure that you have your own light to navigate through the darkness in your environment. Make sure you have enough light in you to brighten your environment. Be that man that embodies what your environment is looking for. Be that man that is a carrier of what your generation needs. Be that one that will provide what is missing in your environment.
I pray for you: in 2023, may it be said that you are a carrier of the ideas your environment needs. May it be said that you are the solution to the puzzles in your workplace. May it be said that your vocation is the solution to multitudes. May it be said that your ministry is providing what your generation needs. May it be said that your prayers are availing what your environment needs. May it be said that you are the answer.
There may have been people who wanted to move but were without light; but because of the ten virgins who had light, they would have been able to move. Hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2023, you will be counted amongst them whose lights helped others to move. You will be counted amongst those whose prayers birthed solutions for others. You will be a bearer of wisdom that your generation needs. You will carry what men need.
Again, I pray for you: may you be that burning and shining light that will show the way to your generation. May you be that burning and shining light that is a carrier of what your environment needs.
Matthew 5: 16 says: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
DECLARATION: In 2023, I will be a carrier of what my environment needs, in Jesus’ name!
