Rhema For Living 3 December 2022 OFM Devotional: Hold on to the Truth
Rhema For Living
3 December 2022 OFM Devotional From The Desk of God’s Servant, Rev, (Dr) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

TOPIC: Hold on to the Truth

BIBLE READING: 2 Cor. 9-13

TEXT: “Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth.” John 17 :17.

Do you know that there is a difference between knowing the facts and knowing the truth? The facts are what can be physically perceived in a given situation. Facts are a product of the natural human senses. Satan tries to control his victims by using the prevailing circumstances. (2 Corinthians 5 :7).

On the other hand, to he word of God is truth (John 17 :17). Facts can easily change hence it is wrong to base your victory or joy on them.

Rather, base it on the Word of God which is settled in heaven forever (Ps. 119 :89). For instance, when you have prayed for healing and standing in faith to receive it, you you must be prepared to discountenance the facts that sight brings to you. You must confess the healing and good health which the word of God has promised you, even if you are yet to experience it. As you keep on insisting on what God’s word says, eventually the truth will swallow up the facts.

The issue now is, how do you know the truth without the knowledge of the word of god which is truth? This is where a lot of believers missed it and as such are held in captivity by the devil. Their ignorance makes the devil Lord over then instead of vice versa. No wonder scripture declares in Hosea 4 :6; “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge I will also reject thee.” Only the truth stands the test of time.

Only the truth is forever settled in heaven (Ps. 119 :89) and bound to be settled in your life when you know it and hold on it. The fact, every false appearance contrary to the truth will give way for the truth.

So hold on to the truth.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, quicken me afresh to hold on to truth.
