TOPIC: You Won’t Go Down
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.” (Luke 7: 11)
STREAMS OF JOY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Jesus came into a city called ‘Nain’. As He approached the gate of the city, there was a funeral procession. Someone who died in the city of Nain was being taken out of the city for burial. The word ‘Nain’ is interpreted to mean beauty, pleasantness, green pastures, etc. So in a place that was pleasant, an unpleasant situation came to that young man who was about to be buried. His environment was pleasant, but his situation was unpleasant.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be caught in that place where your environment is pleasant whilst your situation is unpleasant. You will not be caught in the mix of public applause and secret bitter tears. It will never be said that your situation looked good on the outside but terrible in the inside. It will never be said that you are excluded from the good news in your city/nation. It will never be said that you went down where others went up. You will not be taken out of your green pastures.
Notice that one of the meanings of Nain is green pastures. So that young man died in his green pastures. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not die in your green pastures. You will not go down in the same place where others went higher. You will not be consumed by the good things that God has brought your way. Your green pastures will not turn against you. You will not be a victim of what the Lord has done for you.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: your paths shall drop fatness. You will move from good news to greater good news; you will move from congratulations to greater congratulations; you will not depreciate in the midst of plenty; you will not be cut down in your prime; you will not be an example of negativity in the midst of positivity; you will not be a victim of destiny reduction; the Lord prepares for you a feast of fat things.
You will not be swallowed in your ‘Nain’. You will not go down in your green pastures.
Proverbs 10: 22 (CEV) says: “When the LORD blesses you with riches, you have nothing to regret.”
DECLARATION: I will not go down in my green pastures, in Jesus’ name!
