TOPIC: Costly Mistakes Believers Make (13)

BIBLE READING: Amos. 5 – 9

TEXT: “And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth…” Num. 12 :6 – 8.

Believers also make the costly mistake of thinking everyone is at the same level, that everyone is equal. But that is not true. Though we were all born equal at new birth, but our walk with God differentiates us.

A wise believer therefore ought to know that there are persons above him or her and accord respects to them. Age mate is not destiny mate or grace mate. Peter was older than Jesus, but when he encountered him, he called him master (Luke 5). He was sensitive to know that they were not equal that he is above him.

Even if your case is like Mariam and Aaron who watched Moses grow up, knew everything about his upbringing, you should learn from what happened to Mariam whom God struck with Leprosy for speaking with Aaron against Moses, the servant of God. They thought they were justified to speak against him because the Ethiopian woman whom he married, but they forgot that it is not in their place to judge the servant of the Almighty.

But because they felt they were equals with him because they knew him and were also used by God. They said, “Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? and the LORD heard it.” Num. 12 :1 – 2.

God intervened and settled the matter instantly making Aaron and Mariam know that Moses belongs to a far higher realm of relationship with Him and He struck Mariam with leprosy but spared Aaron probably because of the priestly garment on him. Be wise and secure your destiny from from such mistake.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me Lord to honour those ahead of me. In Jesus Mighty Name.
