TOPIC: Costly Mistakes Believers Make (11)

BIBLE READING: Joel 1-3

TEXT: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Gal. 6 :7

MESSAGE

We are still looking at the costly mistakes believers make, and today we are focusing on the mistake of thinking one is smarter than God.

Can the creature be smarter than its Creator? Where can man hide from the all-knowing and all-present God? Many times, people continue in evil thinking they are smart that God is not seeing them. Meanwhile God sees everything because all things are naked and bare before Him. He only gives His people time to withdraw from evil returning Him and His ways of righteousness, peace and true prosperity.

God is a God of principles. He has put structures that when one obeys his command on any of His principle, he triggers the promises attached to them into fulfillment. And these principles are programmed in degrees with their benefits also. So to continually disobey God’s command thinking you are smart is to be doomed because God is not mocked.

The principle of seed time and harvest was clearly spelt out in Genesis 8 :22, While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heart, and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease”. And Luke 6 :38; further commands that we should give, so that good measure be given unto us. So to give sparingly thinking you are smart, that God is not seeing you is to gather same returns for yourself during harvest. There is no gimmicks about it.

So also to sow evil, is to reap a good measure of what you sow during harvest time. Forgiveness does not rule out consequences. God will forgive you but give you grace to suffer the consequences of your action. Learn from Apostle Paul.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive grace to obey your commands, in Jesus Mighty Name…
