OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, expose me to your truth as I read your word in Jesus name.

SCRIPTURE: Revelations 21:9‐22:5

Scripture Union Daily Guide 27th September 2022 MESSAGE

How do you express or convey heavenly language to earthly beings? We can appreciate John’s struggles as he tries to find the right words to convey the beauty and splendour of the new Jerusalem (21:11, 18‐20). The bride is the prepared Church of Jesus Christ. What are some of the features of the New Jerusalem? The sun, moon and lights are not needed because there is no darkness in God. Isaiah had also indicated that God Himself will be the light of His people (Isaiah 60:19; see also Isaiah 60:1‐2).

Jesus, the Light of the world gives us a glimmer of this as we relate with Him presently. He is light that never goes dark. God’s presence, glory and splendour naturally leads to worship. There is no Temple in heaven since the people of God will be in His presence to commune with and worship Him continually. The twelve gates (21:12) represent all of God’s people including both Israel and the church. However, it is only those who have the right to the ‘Tree of life’ who can enter through the gate.

☛ The sustaining grace that will help us remain sober minded, self-controlled, hospitable and teachable in this end time.
☛ Grace to endure suffering as we continue in the work of God In SU.
☛ Proper walk even as we work among children, youths and families according to God’ s standard.

PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ False brethren who destroy the work by their reckless lives.
⚠ Undignified acts and actions that will destroy the work and waste resources in SU.
