OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, I request that you help me to encounter you as I meditate on your word.

SCRIPTURE: Revelations 17:1‐18

The great prostitute, who sits on many waters (vs.1‐5) is Babylon, the great city that rules over the kings of the earth (v.18). It will be punished (read v.16 and Jeremiah 51:12‐13)! But why? The ancient Babylon was the political, commercial, and religious centre of a world empire and was noted for its luxury and moral decadence. Babylon, therefore, typifies the proud, corrupt and filthy world system, which is always detestable to the holy God.

How far worse and offensive to God, is our generation which legalises/institutionalises every lifestyle that is against God! The woman was drunk with the blood of the saints who bore testimony to Jesus (v.6). Is it any different in our cities and villages today where in their hunt for the blood of Christians, they slaughter whole villagers and bomb churches/buses?

Leaders of nations and commanders of terrorist groups come up and fade away, and new ones come up with more complex strategies, wielding so much power and influence that seem to defy human solutions (vs.7‐8). However, their destruction will come speedily (v.11). Leaders of nations continue to build alliances against Jesus and His gospel, but the Lamb will overcome them (vs.12‐14).

☀ The revelation of God’ s word we receive as we read His word and pray daily.

PRAY FOR:
☛ Scripture Union leaders, staff and the all the pilgrims that they continue to stand firm, with the belt of truth tucked around their waist.
☛ Increased manifestation of the glory of God in our midst, more so as we see the day appearing.
☛ The brethren, as we worship God in our group, Zones, Areas , Regions and National that we will worship God in spirit and in truth.

PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Deception and increased falsehood as they are spreading in many Ministries lately.
⚠ All forms of defilements and lack of sanctification in all we say and do.
