Yesterday, we started looking at the “The Signs of The Times”, and so far it is clear that majority of the signs as explained by Jesus Christ are already with us. But the amazing thing is that many Christians are still living as though nothing is at stake. I hope you are not one of those who disregard divine warnings.

In our Bible reading for today’s devotional we have seen more of the signs of the times : “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matt. 24:5). Indeed the world has witnessed the emergence of many false christs. Some people have boldly declared themselves to be Jesus.

Many of us can still remember such strange elements in this country. These fake men have profound charismatic personality and deceptive nature by which they are able to enslave and imprison their followers mentally and spiritually. Unfortunately, some believers, because of one challenge or the other, have fallen victim to the whims and caprices of these counterfeit Christ.

Many men who are also seeking for fame, wealth and positions have decided to mortgage their eternity by lining up behind these impostors. Beloved, you need to have a deep conviction about the great wonders the Lord can do for His children. Therefore, guard yourself against the trickery and antics of such men. Other signs of the times are war and rumour.

The news media are filled with devastating reportage on wars in many nations of the world today. Coming home to Africa, we are aware of raging wars in some countries, both on medium and large scale. The devil is instigating many of these senseless wars in order to keep on polluting our land.

The Bible says, so ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land… (Numbers 35:33). Also, many unprepared souls have been sent to eternal perdition. All these signs are supposed to be our constant reminder to always be prepared for the coming of our Master – Jesus Christ. Are you born again? Are you preparing for eternity?
