Topic: Industry; God’s Attraction For The Anointing
SCRIPTURE: And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. 1 Samuel 16:11.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Industrious people are instruments in the Hands of God while idle people are instruments in the hands of satan, the devil.
MESSAGE: The anointing, which is God’s abiding Presence with a man, is the secret of greatness in life. When God is with a man, everything good in life is with him. On the other hand, when a man lacks God’s Presence, he lacks everything in life. This means that the Presence of God attracts every other thing to a man.
One of the ways to attract God’s Presence to one’s life is to live a life of industry. A life of industry attracted God’s Presence to David.
Now, what is industry? It is the state of being diligent at work. This is the opposite of idleness.
Industry is living a life where there is a full deployment of your life’s energies, potentials and resources.
The elder brothers of David were rejected when Prophet Samuel came to anoint one of the sons of Jesse as king because they were idle at home doing nothing.
On the other hand, David became the candidate for God’s anointing because he was industrious – he was busy working on the field.

3. Embark on a practical life of hard work.
PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the discipline of hard work. Kill every trace of idleness, laziness and sleepiness in me, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
