Scripture Union Daily Guide 22 April 2022 MESSAGE
In the year 2020, the world experienced an unprecedented lockdown due to COVID19 that stunned the whole world. No visits, no work, no schooling, no gatherings for worship. It was virtual imprisonment. We see Noah being the first to endure a lockdown for over a whole year. He went through the lockdown in full faith and trust in the Lord. Now was a time for he and his family to gain freedom from the lockdown.
God had graciously saved him and his family from the flood. When the ark landed on Mt Ararat, Noah sent out the raven, which never came back. Then the dove which came back with the answers he was looking for. The dove did not come back the last time. Why did Noah remain in the ark? What patience! Since Noah was following God’s commands, why did he have to send the birds to see what the situation was?
Many of us meet various lockdowns in our lives, some which are quite debilitating like illnesses, some that cause lots of pain or ridiculing from friends and family. How did Noah survive over a year of lockdown? It is critical to be focused on God with unwavering faith and trust. The end will come (Isaiah 43:2; Jeremiah 29:11). God’s timing is best for you whatever discomfort you may be experiencing.

So what? Reread vs.21‐22 and Jeremiah 29:11 and pray for your future.

• Father, please remember me for good and let everything begin to work together in my favour in Jesus name.

Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house. Proverbs 24:27
THANK GOD FOR:
› Raising and training new Council Members who will replace retired ones.
› The opportunity God has given them to serve in the council.
PRAY FOR:
› Revelation of God’s word and Spirit in their lives as they depend on His grace to function in the Council.
› The enablement of God in their lives to be able to meet up with the demands of Council meetings.
› The sanctification of God in their lives and family, so they will maintain their testimonies.
PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Making light of the training and failing to follow given instructions later.
∷ Failing to count the cost of being Council members, hence being weighed down with dissipation.
