TOPIC: Sharing the Fragrance of Christ
In Touch Daily Devotional 10 April 2022 MESSAGE
To get the most out of this devotion, set aside time to read the Scripture referenced throughout.
For better or worse, attitudes are infectious—a sour mindset can quickly bring another person down, and a hopeful outlook can lift someone up. Whatever is in our heart overflows into actions, conversations, and commitments with other people (Proverbs 4:23). This is why, after personal salvation, God calls us to sanctification—so that we might bear His fruit and enrich the lives of those around us.
Jesus said it like this: “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 ESV). God’s grace is not just for us but for the blessing of everyone we know and love. And it isn’t limited to sharing the gospel—we can spread the light of Jesus through an encouraging word, a well-timed hug, or a listening ear. At the end of the day, believers should be “the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing” (2 Corinthians 2:15 ESV).
Think about it
• In what environments do you lean toward bitterness? Toward encouragement? How can knowing these tendencies improve your “fragrance”?
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 18-19
THOUGHT FOR TODAY:Believers have a responsibility to positively influence others and bring light into their lives.
