The Mountain Hears You (2)

TEXT: “Howbeit this kind goeth not out by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17 :21.
Rhema for Living 11 February 2022 MESSAGE
In the scenario that led to the statement of our anchor text, a man came to Jesus with his son who was lunatic saying he brought him to Jesus’ disciples but they could not cure him, and Jesus rebuked the devil and he departed out of him and the child was cured from that very hour. And the disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast out the devil from the boy, and Jesus replied that it was because of their unbelief that if they had faith as a grain of mustard seed they can say to the mountain to move to another place and it will obey and nothing shall be impossible unto them.
Then he said, “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” In other words, that kind of mountain cannot be commanded and it obeys without backed up with prayer and fasting.
Therefore, if you want every mountain to obey your voice and give way, you must be a person of prayer and fasting which invariably means you must be fire. When you are a person who prays without season and also fast, your spiritual life will be on fire and you cannot pray effectively without being a person of the word which is a vehicle of power.
Jeremiah 23 :29; says, “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” The word of God with a prayerful lifestyle backed with fasting turns you to a fire brand and when you decree the judgment of God on any mountain, it cannot but obey as Psalms 18 :44; declares.
As you speak, God says, “… Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.” Jer. 5 :14.
What then are you waiting for to start speaking?
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I speak to the barriers of my next level, give way by fire.
