The Salt of the Earth (2)

TEXT : “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost is savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, bit to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men”. Matthew 5 :13

Whatever it takes to preserve your saltiness is worth it. God’s word increases and preserves your saltiness. It is the blue print for good success in Joshua 1 :8; which your saltiness aims out.
When you are full of the word of God, it controls and guides your utterance and deeds. It is out of the abundance of your heart, that the mouth speaks ( Matt. 12 :34 ). When you are rich with the word of God, it also guards what you give attention to, it filters what enters into you and also lifts up standard against every incursion of darkness into your heart.
The word of God cleanses you to be who you ought to be. Psalms 119 :9 , Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” The word of God keeps you away from sin , Psalms 119 :11.
It kills your delight for sins and keeps you in check.
Another weapon to preserve your saltiness is prayer. Prayer generates the power to become. As you pray, the ability to sustain your saltiness is stirred up and quickened in you. With prayer every opposition that rises up against you to hinder you is weeded off your path.
Prayer gives you access to the supernatural, your communication with divinity keeps you in tune, always guided. And when backed up with fasting you soar in the things of the Spirit thereby preserving your saltiness. God has given you the Holy Spirit to help you all the way, stay in tune with Him in fellowship and you will be the salt of the earth indeed.
PRAYER:
My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray now, the grace to preserve my saltiness, rest on me by fire.
