“One day Ahab said to Naboth, ‘Since your vineyard is so convenient to my palace, I would like to buy it to use as a vegetable garden. I will give you a better vineyard in exchange, or, if you prefer, I will pay you for it.’”
Message
This verse reminds us that not every opportunity is meant to be accepted, even when it appears reasonable or beneficial. Naboth’s vineyard represented more than land—it was an inheritance entrusted to him. God teaches us through this moment that what He gives us carries purpose and value beyond material gain. Faithfulness sometimes means saying no, even when the offer looks attractive.
Prayer
Lord, grant me wisdom to discern what is worth holding onto. Help me honor the gifts and responsibilities You have entrusted to me, and give me courage to stand firm in obedience to Your will. Amen.
