Topic: Faith Comes by Hearing
Key Verse: “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
Message: The Bible doesn’t say faith comes by having heard. The bible doesn’t say faith comes by reading. No! Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The faith that will enable you take what grace has supplied comes by hearing. It comes by hearing. The two ears are given to us to hear something. There is something about hearing. There is something that takes place in your spirit man by hearing the word of God. That is why, any church where the word is not taught and the people are not hearing the word, you can mesmerize them. You can stomp on them! You can molest them! You can abuse them whichever way you want because they don’t know anything.

The book of Romans 10:14 says: “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Also 1 Corinthians 1:21 says: “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

It pleased God, that through the foolishness of preaching the Word, those who believe will be saved. Remember that they cannot believe in Him of Whom they have not heard. And they cannot hear without a preacher? Then he says, God used foolishness, the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe; because as the word is being preached, Rhema goes forth. The Rhema is what makes you act. The Rhema is what makes you move. You just know that something moved you. You took a step and then the power is released.
