The Verse of the Day 1st August 2022 | MESSAGE
Every word you speak and every action you take begins with a thought. The thought may be fleeting, or even incomplete or not fully developed, but you won’t speak or do anything unless you have thought it first.
Certain thoughts become extremely powerful words and actions—for example, the creation of the world was in God’s heart. He knew what He wanted and spoke each aspect of creation. When He spoke, His words had power. Whatever left His mouth came into existence. When God said, “Let there be light,” there was light (see Genesis 1:3). This same process happened with the sky, the seas, vegetation, the sun, the moon, the stars, and the entire natural world (see Genesis 1:1–31).
You are created in God’s image (see Genesis 1:27), and your words also have power (see Proverbs 18:21). Your words start with your thoughts, and they have a powerful impact on your life. Use them wisely and in agreement with what God has spoken in His Word.

Heavenly Father, help me to use my words wisely, remembering always that they are extremely powerful. In Jesus’ name, amen.
