Today’s Reading
Psalm 121:1-8
The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. – Psalm 121:7-8 (NIV)
At one time in my life, I was surrounded by many social and economic issues. I was stressed day and night, and it was quite unbearable. When I tried to handle the problems on my own, it only seemed to make things worse. I felt helpless.
Then one day I received a call from a man of God who asked me to join a prayer meeting. Even though the meeting was at a location far away from me, I decided to go. When I arrived, I was heavily burdened. I joined the group in worship and prayer, and as I did so, I began to receive peace in my heart and my heaviness was gone. I believe God led me to that place.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28, KJV). God can perform miracles when we think there is no way forward. We can trust God to help us in all our circumstances.
Today’s Prayer
Gracious and loving God, thank you for strengthening us to face difficult situations. We pray in the name of the One who saves the world and whose grace is abundant. Amen.
