THE UPPER ROOM DEVOTIONAL 15TH OCTOBER 2025, WEDNESDAY MESSAGE
Peace in Troubled Times
Samuel E. (Ontario, Canada)
Today’s Reading
Psalm 34:15-22
Key Verse: The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. – Psalm 34:19 (NIV)
As I faced a dangerous virus, fear took over. Every day felt like a struggle, and the idea of dying paralyzed me. Medical help wasn’t enough, so I turned to prayer.
While reading my Bible, I came across Psalm 34:19. This verse gave me comfort when fear tried to take over. Days were uncertain, but that verse was like a friend. I also started praying daily.
Then things started to improve. It wasn’t a quick fix, but my fear started fading and so did my physical symptoms. Every day I got stronger, and the virus didn’t have as tight a hold on me. I wasn’t just getting better physically; it was like my faith was coming back, and I felt God’s kindness.
Looking back, I’m grateful. Every breath used to remind me of fear, but now each one is a reminder of strength and hope. Psalm 34:19 now lives in my heart. This wasn’t just about overcoming a virus; it was about finding faith and healing. In tough times, faith and prayer can be the lights that guide us. Psalm 34:19 is more than words; it’s like a rope that pulled me out of the dark and into a new life.
