Scripture: Ezekiel 36:24-32

The Daily Fountain Devotional 6th May 2020 Outline:

This passage is a double prophecy. It includes both the physical restoration of Israel from Babylonian captivity and her final (physical and spiritual) restoration from among all (v.24) the nations after the Second Coming of Christ. At that time, Israel will accept Christ as her Lord and Saviour.

Although, many Israelites returned from the Babylonian captivity with remorse, the repentance at the second advent of Christ will be massive. God will cleanse them spiritually and give them a new heart to obey, love and be committed to Him (vs. 26-27).

With the restoration of relationship, God promised Israel a peaceful settlement in the land He gave their ancestors, with economic and agricultural benefits (vs. 28-30).

The new covenant (vs. 25-27), though reserved for Christ’s Second Coming, will not be only with Israel. Gentiles are included. A foretaste of the covenant is with us today. If we examine ourselves and observe we have lost spiritual relationship with God and if we judge ourselves and repent, we shall be saved. You have opportunity for that salvation even now, if you are utterly ashamed of your sins and repent of them.

Meditate: “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25)

Prayer: Lord, in your mercy convict me of my sins and give me a willing spirit to repent and act according to your will.
