The Daily Fountain Devotional 20 April 2020 – Be Holy For I Am Holy
Scripture: 1 Peter 1:10-16
Outline: In the last few days, we have discussed the resurrection of Christ from the dead and its implications to the believer. For us to benefit fully from it and experience its power here on earth, we MUST BE HOLY. God is holy and has commanded us to be holy. It means being separated from impurity and set apart for God and His use.Though not much is being preached about it these days, its importance to the Church cannot be overemphasised.
For without holiness, no one will see the Lord. (Heb. 12:14). In verse 10-12,the prophets of the Old Testament spoke about the salvation that would come through Christ and the glory that would follow His suffering. They did not only speak about them but also searched and longed for theirown time of manifestation. However, the prophecy was not for them. We are therefore privileged to have it in our own time with its full rights and benefits.
These full rights and benefits are conditional however. Any intending partaker must put away the old life of lust and immorality, become an obedient child of God and maintain a steady life of Holiness. Are you ready to do so? Remember that no man shall see God without peace and holiness.

Meditate: “For the Lord God will help me; therefore I will not be disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed. He is near who justifies me; who will contend with me? Let us stand together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near me. Surely the Lord God will help me; who is he who will condemn me? Indeed they will all grow old like a garment; the moth will eat them up.” (Isaiah 50:7)
Prayer
Lord, cause me to be sensitive of holy living every time!
