FOCUS: “And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.” (1 Kings 3: 20)
Our Focal Scripture tells the tale of how one woman whose child was alive, was given a dead child and her living child was taken from her. Both women had their babies three days apart. Babies often appear similar in their first few days, and may not be significantly distinct from other children. So whilst the babies were not as distinct as older babies would be, the woman with the dead child exchanged the living child of the other woman.
Friend, one strategy of the enemy is to exchange your future when it is not easily recognizable. The enemy specializes in taking away your new when it looks insignificant, unrecognizable, and irreconcilable with the picture of your expectations. Some of the opportunities that will position you on higher levels may not appear so when they are insignificant. Your answers may not seem as answers when they are small.
It is easy for the enemy to tamper with a relationship when you are yet to gain the value therein. It is easy for the enemy to exchange what will profit you when it does not yet seem profitable. It is easy for the enemy to tamper with your life changing opportunities when they are still too small to be taken seriously. It is easy for the enemy to launch an attack against you at a time when the attack seems too small to be an attack.
Today, I pray for you: may you not see your future and not recognize it because it is yet insignificant. May you not have what is yours taken away from you at a time when you imagine that it is too small to later become significant. May you not be so undiscerning that the enemy will take away what the Lord brought your way and you wouldn’t even notice. May you not accept losses because you underestimated the loss.
Don’t allow the enemy to hijack the great future ahead of you because it is small, insignificant and unattractive.
Guard your little; discern your little; don’t lose the future because it currently looks too small to later become big.
Job 8: 7 says: “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”
DECLARATION: My eyes are open to discern my little that will later become great, in Jesus’ name!
