TOPIC: You Won’t Be Swallowed

MEMORY VERSE: “What if God had not been there for us? Our enemies, in their violent anger, would have swallowed us up alive!” (Psalm 124: 2-3 TPT)

SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 7: 11-17

11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

17 And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

FOCUS: “And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.” (Luke 7: 11)

Streams of Joy Devotional 1st March 2024 MESSAGE

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of the city of Nain. It was in this city that a young man died and was being taken out of the gate of the city for burial before Jesus saw them. So the young man who was about to be buried, lived in Nain and died in Nain. He died in the city that he lived in. Death swallowed him in the city that he lived in. Nain was supposed to be a great city, but for this young man, he was swallowed by the city he lived in.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be swallowed by the city that you live in. You will not be swallowed by whatever happens around you. You will not be swallowed by whatever negativity that is going on around you. You will not be swallowed in the land that you live in. You will not be consumed by whatever negativity that is in your environment. You will not be a victim of the land where God has planted you.

Whilst others lived in the Nain, one young man was singled out for death. One young man became an example of death in Nain. One young man became an example of negativity. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be an example of negativity. You will not be an example of those that their cities swallowed. You will not be counted amongst them that were defeated by their land. You will not be a victim of where you live.

Today, I decree, you will have the best of the land that you live in. The earth is under mandate to work in your favour. Your environment is under mandate to work in your favour. Your locale is under mandate to give you the best. The land that you are in, is under mandate to give you the best ever harvest. The land that you are in, is under mandate to work for your lifting. The land that you are in, is under mandate to birth your congratulations.

This month, and even beyond, you will have dominion over the land that you are in. You will not be swallowed by your environment. You will not go down in that place where God has planted you.

DECLARATION
I won’t be swallowed by the land that I am in, in Jesus’ name!
