TOPIC: New Levels
SCRIPTURE READING: John 5: 1-14 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
FOCUS VERSE:
“Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” (John 5: 14)
Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 20th August 2025 MESSAGE:
Our Focal Scripture tells the tale of how the man who was previously at the pool of Bethesda, met Jesus in the temple. In his former condition while at the pool, he was surrounded by multitudes of people who were blind, halt, lame, etc. (see John 5 vs. 3). His condition put him in a dysfunctional circle. Notice that when Jesus healed him, his circle changed. What Jesus did for him, created a new circle around him. What he received changed his circle.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: receive that miracle that will utterly change your circle. Receive that help from God that will bring you into the circles of those who are moving forward. Receive that divine intervention that will transport you from the circle of the stagnated to the circle of the helped. Receive that miracle that will reposition your destiny away from the places where you have been. Receive that miracle that changes circles.
Notice that while at the pool, waiting to be healed, that man was surrounded by people who were also seeking to be healed. His circle was as helpless as himself. What he lacked was also lacking in his circle. His struggles were just about the same struggles of the people in his circle, before Jesus showed up. I pray for you: may El Roi grant you that miracle that will change your circle for good. May your miracle turn your circle.
The same man who needed help to move, got healed, and he could move without anyone’s help. He got healed, and he suddenly had the capacity to help others move. His healing, brought him to a point where he could be useful to the dysfunctional circle he once belonged to. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to receive that help from God that will cause you to do for others the same thing you needed others to do for you.
Welcome to that season where your miracles will cause your circle to change. Welcome to that season where you will receive miracles that will make you a change agent in your circle.
Psalm 113: 7-8 says: “7. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; 8. That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.”
DECLARATION: I receive that miracle that will change my circle, in Jesus’ name!
