TOPIC: Broken Protocols
MEMORY VERSE
“No one can oppose you, because you have the power to do what you want.” (Job 42: 2 CEV)
SCRIPTURE READING: John 5: 1-14 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
FOCUS VERSE:
“9. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. 10. The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.” (John 5: 9-10)
Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 16th August 2025 MESSAGE:
When the man at the pool of Bethesda was healed and he took up his bed and walked, there were Jews who insisted that it was unlawful for him to carry his bed on the Sabbath. Notice that it was Jesus that instructed this man to carry his bed and walk. Jesus already knew the law that was against the man, given that he was healed on the Sabbath, but He insisted that he carries his bed. Jesus indirectly broke a law for that man.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every law standing against your advancement, is broken. Every policy standing against your progress, is broken. Every written ordinance that says you will not move forward, is broken. Every protocol of men that has been put in place to make sure you do not rise and make progress, is broken. Every law that is standing against your greatness, is broken. Every law against you goes down now.
Sabbath was a valid law in Israel in bible times; those who used it as an excuse to say that the man at Bethesda was wrong to carry his bed, were right as per the law; but Jesus knew the law and chose to break it all the same. Jesus knew the law and chose to do something that will make nonsense of the law. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to receive that miracle that will make nonsense of every known law and protocol.
When Jesus shows up, the laws of men bow before Him. When Jesus shows up, the schemes and calculations of men give way. When Jesus shows up, what men wrote against you cannot stand. When Jesus steps into your matter, the protocols that say no to you will have to give way for the YES from Jesus. When Jesus steps in, there is no voice from the pit of hell that can hinder or demobilize His agenda for your life.
Welcome to that season where laws will be broken for your sake. Welcome to that season where Jesus Himself will overrule the laws of men to fulfill His agenda for your life.
DECLARATION:
I rise, I move, I cannot be stopped, in Jesus’ name!
