Streams of Joy Sunday November 9, 2025 Daily Devotional Message
TOPIC: It’s Turning Around
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 8: 41-56
41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter [a]and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, [b]and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, [c]be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the [d]Teacher.”
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go [e]in except [f]Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But He [g]put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. 56 And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
FOCUS VERSE: “While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.” (Luke 8: 49)
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
As Jairus spoke to Jesus about his daughter who was at the point of death, news came from his residence that the young girl had died. Jairus contacted Jesus, and his situation simply went from bad to worse. He contacted Jesus, and things got more complicated. He contacted Jesus, and it seemed that his situation just got worse. He contacted Jesus, and things seemed to become more difficult. He touched heaven and it became tougher.
Friend, the evidence that you have touched heaven is that sometimes, what was difficult might just become more difficult. Sometimes, as you pray, it would seem that the enemy is heightening his attacks on you. It doesn’t mean that your prayers are not working; it simply means that you actually touched heaven. As you exercise your faith in anticipation of what God would do, don’t be discouraged if it seems that battles are getting tougher.
The fact that Jairus met Jesus, and his daughter still died, did not mean that he met the wrong Jesus. The fact that negativity may indeed be getting more complicated does not mean that you are not yet hitting at the doors of heaven rightly. The fact that some issues are getting more complicated does not mean that God is not hearing your cries. The fact that your results do not match your expectations, does not mean that God is asleep.
Notice that eventually, everything turned around, and the same girl who had died, came back to life. Everything turned around, and the negative evidence that Jairus initially saw, gave way to great news. Hear me as I hear the Lord: whatever negative reality that suggests to you that God is not hearing you yet, is about to turn around. That bad news is turning around. That situation is turning around. You will soon dance around for joy.
Welcome to that season where the evidence of your knocks on the doors of heaven will manifest. Welcome to that season where everything will turn around.
Ezekiel 21: 27 says: “I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.”
DECLARATION: Everything is turning around; it will not end the way the devil planned it, in Jesus’ name!
