Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 6th June 2026, Saturday Devotional Message
TOPIC:TAKE A STAND
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.” (Exodus 1: 20)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the people multiplied and became very mighty, because the midwives refused to do the wicked bidding of Pharaoh. Two midwives took a positive decision that preserved and multiplied a generation. Their action preserved a generation. Their inaction would have also helped to decimate a generation. They chose to act in line with God’s will, and the generation of Israel multiplied.
Friend, don’t be counted amongst those who sit by and do nothing. Your actions have generational implications. Your inactions may also be the reason why your generation is being, or will be decimated. You have the capacity to steer your next generation in the right direction by your actions. Your prayers can be the reason why doors will open for those connected to you. You are the person who will cause God’s will to prevail.
God already had proclaimed that the seed of Abraham would multiply. By the action of the midwives, God’s word found expression. By the action of the midwives, there was a fulfillment of what God had promised. You can be that vessel through whom the word of the Lord will come to pass. God is seeking vessels through whose prayers, actions, decisions, choices, etc. His word and will, will come to pass.
Don’t sit back and watch things spoil under your watch. Don’t be inactive when heaven expects you to take action. Don’t be prayerless when your prayers are being counted upon by many. Don’t be silent when your voice ought to be heard in high places. There is a multiplication that heaven wants to use you to activate. There is greatness that can be unveiled if you are willing to push. If you stand in the gap, generations will be preserved.
Don’t be that midwife that goes missing when it matters most. May it be said that heaven could count on you to make the difference when it matters most.
1 Corinthians 16: 13 says: “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”
