TOPIC: Possess Your Portion
FOCUS: “And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand…” (Joshua 5: 13)
Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 5 October 2021 Message:
Jericho was part of the promise that God made to His people. It was part of what was called the Promised land. It was a land for the children of Israel to possess. Notice that in our Focal Scripture, Joshua was by Jericho. Joshua came close to a promise that God made to His people, but he was only beside it. He was close to it, but he was yet to enter in. He was close to it, but not in it. He came close to his blessing, but could only stand by it.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not only come close to your blessing, but you will step into it. You will not only come close to your opportunity but you will possess it. You will not only come close to your portion but you will also carry it with your own hands. You will not only come close to your miracle but it will become your reality. You will not only come close to your next level but you will step into it.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: in this season, you are stepping into your ‘Jericho’. You are stepping into your next level. You are walking into your open doors and gates. You are receiving the help of kings and nobles who may have been around you. You are stepping into the answers to prayers you have come close to. You are stepping into the desires of your heart. You are stepping into the territories you prayed for and believed God for.
You belong to the generation of those who see their portion and carry it with their own hands. You belong to the generation of those who see what is theirs and they step in to take it. You belong to the generation of those who come close to their place and take it. You are not of the breed that see the Promised Land without entering in. You are not of the breed that bows to hell. You are not of the breed that stops on the way.
Welcome to your season of stepping into your portion. You will not only come close; you are entering in.
Judges 11:24 GNB says: “Are you going to try to take it back? You can keep whatever your god Chemosh has given you. But we are going to keep everything that the LORD, our God, has taken for us.”
DECLARATION: I will not only come close to my portion, I will also step into it, in Jesus’ name!
