SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 8: 41-56
41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter [a]and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, [b]and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, [c]be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the [d]Teacher.”
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go [e]in except [f]Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But He [g]put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. 56 And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
FOCUS VERSE: “And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.” (Luke 8: 55)
When Jesus called out to Jairus’ dead daughter, scriptures say that her spirit came again, and she arose. Her rising happened the moment her spirit came again. There was a return of her spirit, and immediately, she arose. Her rising was orchestrated by the return of her spirit. There was a rising when her spirit returned. The moment her spirit came back to her, she arose. The moment her spirit came again, rising was next.
Friend, if your spirit man does not ‘come again’, you may not be able to arise as Jesus has destined. If your spirit man is empty, you will not be able to rise. If your spirit man is not fed with continuous communion and fellowship with God, you won’t be able to rise. If your spirit man is not revived in the place of prayer and communion, you won’t be able to take on your destiny mandate. An empty spirit will not get you to rise.
The mistake of many, is to attempt to arise when the ‘spirit’ has not come again. The mistake of many, is to force a rising when there is no activity in the spirit man to fuel the rising. If the flow in your spirit man is hindered, you just might be unable to rise as you should. If you allow your spirit man to grow cold, you won’t be able to become all that God desires you to become. If your spirit man does not come alive, you may never arise fully.
Jesus did not redeem you so that you can lead an empty life spiritually. Jesus redeemed you so that you can walk by the spirit. It is the spirit that quickens you; your flesh cannot drive you. It is the well of your spirit which flows from within, that will guarantee the rising that God Himself already destined for you. It is the life that flows from your spirit that will empower your flesh to ascend to heights. Your heights will flow from your spirit.
Don’t make the mistake of allowing coldness in your spirit man. Let the fire of God burn in you. Let the life of the Spirit of God find expression in you. Let the fullness of the Spirit of God dwell in you.
John 6: 63 says: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
DECLARATION: My spirit man has come alive, in Jesus’ name!
