Streams of Joy Wednesday November 19, 2025 Daily Devotional Message
TOPIC: Arise
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 8: 41-56
41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter [a]and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, [b]and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, [c]be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the [d]Teacher.”
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go [e]in except [f]Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But He [g]put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. 56 And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
FOCUS VERSE: “And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.” (Luke 8: 54)
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus told the daughter of Jairus to arise. That girl had already died, but Jesus commanded her to arise. She had given up the ghost according to the report of men, but Jesus showed up and commanded her to arise. The chapter of her destiny had ended, but Jesus showed up and commanded her to arise. She that was dead was commanded to arise. She that had been taken by the spirit of death, was asked to arise.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: whatever the enemy wants to swallow in your life, I command it to arise. Whatsoever the enemy wants to decimate in your life, I command it to arise. Whatever the enemy wants to kill or has already killed around you, I command it to arise. I command dead gifts to arise. I command dead potentials to arise. I command dead opportunities to arise. I command dead organs to arise.
Death took out the daughter of Jairus, but Jesus showed up and commanded life to return. Jesus showed up, and reversed the impact of the spirit of death. Whatever damage the enemy has done in your life to the extent that things have died, I command the dead to arise. I command whatever the enemy killed in your life to come back to life. I command whatever that has been crushed to death in your life to receive life.
Even if what is dead has been in the grave like Lazarus, by that same power that raised Jesus from the dead, I command it to come back to life. Even if yours is similar to the dry bones in the valley, the same power that caused the dry bones to come together and receive life, is causing your dry bones to come back to life. Let your dead arise. Let whatever the enemy decimated arise again. Let your dead places arise again.
Welcome to that season where whatever is dead is coming back to life. Welcome to that season where whatever is dead and down is rising again.
Psalm 57: 8 says: “Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.”
DECLARATION: Whatever is dead around me, and whatever the enemy tried to kill, come back to life, in Jesus’ name!
