Streams of Joy 30th December 2024 Daily Devotional (Monday) Message
TOPIC: No Mass Disaster
“Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.” (Matthew 2: 16)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, by the decree of Herod, children who were two years and below were all murdered in cold blood. Disaster came upon children in Bethlehem who were two years and below. Innocent children were caught up in disaster. Entire families were thrown into mourning on account of disaster that went round, courtesy of Herod. Tears of pain happened at the same time in different families.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be a victim of mass disaster. It will never be said that you were caught in a tragedy that affected many around you. You will not be a victim of another man’s wickedness. You will not be a victim of another man’s mistake. You will not be a victim of collective negativity. You will not cry because everyone around you is crying. You will not suffer whatever comes the way of people around you.
Jesus was the main target of Herod, but He was not even in Bethlehem at the time of the massacre. So, some children were massacred in a bid to get to someone who had already escaped from Herod. Those children literally died for nothing. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not die another man’s death. You will not be a victim of another man’s trap. You will not be caught in the crossfire of battles that have nothing to do with you.
As 2024 makes way for 2025, I decree, you will not be a victim of mass disaster. You will not be caught up in collective tragedy. You will not be swallowed by the same evil that swallowed others. You will not be counted amongst them that the enemy cut short their destinies. You will not bury and you will not be buried. You will not mourn in Zion. You will not be in tears at a time when you ought to be dancing and celebrating.
The same way Jesus escaped before the attack of Herod and subsequent massacre, I decree, before the Herod’s of this world show up with their massacre, you would have already escaped.
Psalm 124: 7 says: “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.”
Declare With Me: I will not be caught in any mass disaster, in Jesus’ name!
