Streams of Joy 2nd February 2025 Daily Devotional (Sunday) Message
TOPIC: Build in Secret
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Kings 9
“And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.” (2 Kings 9: 6)
In our Focal Scripture, Jehu joined one of the sons of the prophets to go into the house where he was anointed as King, away from the eyes of the captains who sat with him. Jehu was not anointed in full public glare. He was anointed where eyes could not see. People were not watching as he got anointed as king of Israel. The oil for the kingship of Jehu was poured in secret. The capacitation for Jehu’s kingship, happened in secret.
Friend, as you navigate through 2025, one major question you always need to ask yourself is, what is going on with you in secret? Who are you becoming in secret? Who are you evolving into, in secret? What is going on in your life in secret? What capacity is coming on you in secret? What oil is coming upon you in secret? What agenda of heaven is being activated in your life in secret? What is happening with you in secret?
Away from the eyes of his fellow captains, Jehu received the oil that made him king of Israel. As you navigate through 2025, are you amongst the ‘captains’ chatting away at the outer court while others are being capacitated in inner chambers? What capacity are you building in secret? What are you building in secret? Who are you becoming in secret? What abilities are you building where eyes cannot see?
At some point, the captains blew trumpets to announce that Jehu had become king, but that was preceded by the oil that came on him in secret. There was an open celebration of Jehu following his secret anointing by the son of the prophet. Whatever public celebration and affirmation you desire will come sequel to your secret anointing. Who you become in secret will determine how you will be celebrated in the open.
2025 is that year when you must commit to building in secret. Don’t let all that is seen in you be what happens in the full glare of the public.
Micah 4: 7 says: “And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.”
TODAY’S DECLARATION: I commit to building in secret, in Jesus’ name!
