Streams of Joy 27th January 2025 Daily Devotional (Monday) Message
TOPIC: Not By Qualification
SCRIPTURE READING: 2 Kings 9
“And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1)
In bible times, kings were anointed by major prophets. It was not the duty of sons of the prophets to anoint a king. Notice that in our Focal Scripture, Elisha sent one of the sons of the prophets to take a box of oil to go and anoint Jehu as king of Israel. That son of the prophets was not qualified for the role of anointing a king, but he was sent by Elisha on the assignment. That role was too big for him, but he was singled out for it.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will be singled out for higher assignments. You will be singled out for higher responsibilities. You will be selected for opportunities that you consider yourself unworthy of. You will be called to do things that you consider yourself too unqualified to do. You will be favoured with higher levels that your contemporaries have not been favoured with. You will be sent with the oil for new levels.
That son of the prophet was still in training, he was still under tutelage, and rightfully so; but he was favoured to take up an assignment that was above his paygrade. Hear me as I hear the Lord: this year, you will be called to take up opportunities that are above your paygrade. You will be called to do what you are ordinarily not supposed to be allowed to do. You will be called into higher levels that you have disqualified yourself from.
The favour of El Roi will give you more than you are qualified for. The favour of El Roi will give you more than you deserve. The favour of El Roi will single you out for an uncommon lifting. The favour of El Roi will make you the toast of many. The favour of El Roi will deliver to you more than you could ever imagine. The favour of El Roi will make you a spectacle of God’s glory. The favour of El Roi will transport you to realms you didn’t pray for.
Welcome to that season where favour will position you for what your labour may never offer you. Welcome to that season where you will have more than you are qualified for.
Romans 9: 16 says: “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
TODAY’S DECLARATION: In 2025, I shall have opportunities beyond my paygrade, in Jesus’ name!
