Streams of Joy 25th March 2025 Devotional (Tuesday) Message
TOPIC: No Negative Identity
MEMORY VERSE
“Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.” (Isaiah 56: 5)

“59. And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father. 60. And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.” (Luke 1: 59-60)
Streams of Joy 25th March 2025 Devotional MESSAGE
Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when the relatives of Zachariah attempted to give a name to his son. They wanted the baby to be named after his father. They wanted to give a name that was contrary to the instruction that God had already given. They wanted to give a name that was contrary to heaven’s agenda. Notice that Elizabeth promptly refused to have them give the wrong name. Names are symbolic of identity. So, she rejected the wrong identity for her son.
Friend, reject every identity that is not in line with the will of God concerning you. Reject every name that is not what God designed for you. Reject every name that is inconsistent with your prophecy. Reject every negative identity. Reject every identity of affliction that the enemy wants to put on you. Reject every medical report that the enemy wants to make into your identity. Reject every identity that hell put on you. Reject every identity that is contrary to the word of the Lord concerning you.
Relatives who didn’t know what God said concerning the child of Zachariah and Elizabeth came with their preferred name. They came with an identity for a child that came to fulfill divine agenda. People who do not understand the divine agenda for your life will expect you to accept identities that are not in line with what the Lord is saying concerning you. People who do not understand your prophecy will believe that you can bear any identity.
Zachariah had grown to old age without having a child; and when he finally had a child, his relatives wanted the child to have the same identity his father had. They wanted to replicate the negativity in his father’s life. Don’t accept any negative identity that the enemy is trying to reenact in your bloodline. Don’t allow the enemy to call you by the same name that generations before you suffered from. Don’t accept negative identities.
This is that season when you must reject every identity that is not of God. If it is not of God, and if it not consistent with the word of the Lord concerning your life, reject it. Don’t live with any identity that is not of God.
DECLARATION:
I receive miracles by the mercies of God, in Jesus’ name!
