Streams of Joy 1st January 2025 Daily Devotional (Wednesday) Message
TOPIC: El Roi
“And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?” (Genesis 16: 13)
In our Focal Scripture, Hagar spoke about God as the God that sees her. Hagar exited the house of Abraham on account of her misdemeanor against Sarah. She left because she did wrong; she left because she was at fault; she left because she despised her mistress. She left because she was in error; but right in the wilderness, she was seen by God, whom she called El Roi. She deserved judgement, but she was seen by the God who sees with the eyes of mercy.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2025, El Roi who sees with the eyes of mercy will keep His eyes on you. You may not always get it right, but I pray for you: may the God who sees with the eyes of mercy continually see you with mercy. The eyes of the Lord will see your weaknesses with mercy. The eyes of the Lord will see your journey with mercy. Mercy will prevail when the issues of life are stacked against you. Mercy will prevail in 2025.
It would have been understood if the eyes of the Lord were on a Hagar that did right, but El Roi continued to see the Hagar that had done wrong. The eyes of El Roi were not taken off from Hagar even when she deserved the very worst. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the eyes of mercy shall remain on you: it is God’s promise to you, and even if you count yourself to be underserving, it will still be on you. El Roi will see you with mercy.
Whatever happens in 2025, always remember that you serve a God who sees with eyes of mercy. He doesn’t see as man sees. He doesn’t wear the hat of judgement and forgets to wear the hat of mercy. Mercy is God’s nature.
Mercy is God’s identity. Mercy is God’s window to do for you what you may really not deserve. As 2025 begins, never forget to use the passcode of mercy. When men say you are not qualified, seek the mercies of El Roi.
I pray for you: may it be said that all through 2025, El Roi saw you with the eyes of mercy. May mercy prevail over your entire 2025.
Hosea 14: 3 says: “Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.”
TODAY’S DECLARATION: In 2025, El Roi sees me with the eyes of mercy, in Jesus’ name!
