Streams of Joy 17th May 2025 Devotional (Wednesday) Message
TOPIC: Not By Process
SCRIPTURE READING: John 6:1-14
FOCUS VERSE: “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.” (John 6: 11)
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus broke the bread and the fishes and gave to His disciples to share to the multitude. Amongst these disciples was Philip who had earlier suggested that even two hundred penny-worth of bread would not be enough. Even Andrew, the one who made mention of the lad with the five loaves and two fishes, was quick to add that the five loaves and two fishes will not be enough to feed the multitude.
Jesus decided to feed the multitude, and He put the bread and fishes in the hands of these same disciples who did not believe. The disciples were like the process that took the bread and fishes to the multitude, they did not necessarily align or were favourable, but Jesus used them nonetheless. Jesus put His hands on the bread and fish before giving to the disciples, and although they did not believe, the bread and fish multiplied all the same.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: processes may not be favourable to you, but the hand of the Lord is already upon you, and no man will truncate your portion. No matter how unfavourable the process is, you will get your result. No process will undermine your destiny. No process will cause you to suffer loss. No process will cause you to have a better yesterday. No process will take what is yours and give same to another person.
Jesus already took the bread and fishes, and blessed them before giving to His disciples; so, their unbelief could not affect the multiplication of the bread. Those in whose hands your bread and fish are, do not have the power to determine how the bread and fish will turn out. The managers of the processes you are depending on, do not have the power to get in the way of what the Lord has elected to make happen for you.
Welcome to that season where the processes of men will not work against you. Welcome to that season where you will have your portion irrespective of who is part of the process.
Romans 9: 16 says: “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
DECLARATION: No process will work against me, in Jesus’ name!
