TOPIC: You Still Have Seed
FOCUS: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.” (Genesis 26: 12)
Streams of Joy 15th October 2023 Devotional MESSAGE:
The events of Genesis 26 began with the mention of famine. Typically, in bible times, people did not have fresh yield to rely on during famines, so they ended up eating their harvest and even the seed they could have planted for another harvest. Notice that despite the famine, Isaac sowed in the land. So he still had seed. At a time when people were looking for what to eat, Isaac still had what to sow.
Friend, I pray for you: no matter the famine, you will still have seed. No matter the dryness, you will still have something to plant that can yield a harvest for you. No matter the famine, you will still have ideas that will bring you profit. No matter the economic decline, you will still have opportunities that will bring your abundance. No matter the dryness, you will still have resources that will bring you more and more resources.
Dryness may have taken its toll on people in the land of Gerar, but Isaac still had something that God could bless. There was something left, and it became something that God can bless. Hear me as I hear the Lord: if there be something left, then there is something that God can bless. If there is still any iota of strength, effort, idea, opportunity, help, etc. get set: God will use it to orchestrate a blessing that will blow your mind.
On an instructive note, the fact that there is famine does not mean you should be empty handed. No matter the dryness, let not your hands be bereft of seed. No matter the economic downturn, let not your life be bereft of skill, ability, competence, dedication, etc. Don’t allow what is happening around you to take away what you can do to make a difference. Don’t allow the famine around you to take your seed from you.
Remember, if there is something left, then there is something God can bless. If there be seed left in your hands, it will be your platform for increase.
John 4: 35 says: “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”
DECLARATION: No famine will swallow my seed, in Jesus’ name!
